Just been to a shop called Cotswold up the Crow Road in Partick, Glasgow ... ex rental softs were to be had for either £25 or £35!
Bought two pairs, a well used £25 pair of black Flow boots to destroy over the rest of the season at the dry slope and a brand new pair of 'Sabian' boots. No, I've never heard of them either, but they were £35, a good fit, and looks as if they've never been out as they still had all the size labels inside. The only evidence that they've ever been a hire pair ...
