St George or Lion - Borovets

Hi everyone - I am going to Borovets 06-13 Jan and there are only spaces left for these dates in St George hotel or Lion hotel. Anyone got any ideas on which is better (first time in Borovets)?

Please dont take this as gospel, but Im sure the St George isnt finished, has been empty for a couple of years, didnt look finished earlier this week anyway

Fraser is the hotel you're thinking of just up the road from the Rila opposite the Alpin? If so then that is the St Constantine as we were led to believe.

Information about the Lion Hotel can be found on the Borovets page of this site. It looks new to me but otherwise I can't comment.

Thanks very much Fraser, Sarah and Ellie. I was sent the two options from this site, so I will get back to them to confirm both are open! Mind you, there are recommendations by the Bulgariaski website for both hotels - would they really risk their reputation by recommending one that was not open?

Heya all,

the St. George is working for some years, I'm not sure but think it was opend in 2000. The other one building ruin is from the last year in Amsterdam killed Mafia chief from Samokov region, may be it was finished yet.

The St. George is a nice Hotel, the Lion is brand new, have no idea where it is the St.George is on the map as Sv. George.

So you have to decide your own ...
