Flu Closed Hospitals
Visits to many hospitals across the country are forbidden; the planned operations are canceled; the children's health centers and the maternity centers are closed, because of a flu outbreak. The classes in many schools across the country are canceled because of many ill pupils and teachers. The flu epidemic was first declared in Stara Zagora and Haskovo towns 2 weeks ago. In no time, the flu spread in almost all municipalities in this country. Flu epidemic was declared in Pleven, Russe and Blagoevgrad towns, in Plovdiv city as well as in Montana, Yambol, Petrich and Dimitrovgrad town and in the whole Sofia District. For the time being Sofia is not put under quarantine, but this is expected to happen by the end of this week or by the beginning of the next one, at the latest. In the past 7 days, 107 out of every 10,000 Sofia citizens came down with flu. A drastic increase in the number of Sofianites with flu was registered the first two days of this week. The most affected by the outbreak are the Sofia districts of Druzhba, Mladost and Lyulin, whereas in Sofia downtown and the districts at the foot of the Vitosha Mountain relatively few cases have been registered. 200 out of every 10,000 citizens should show symptoms of flu so that a flu epidemic is declared in Sofia.
