Sterling or Lev

Hi, we're going to Borovets on the 19th and we're wondering if it's best to change up our spending money before going or take £ Sterling?

Do restaurants accept £ Sterling as payment or do you have to change the money when you get there?

If you have to change it what kind of commission is charged?

Hi Neil,

Im off to bororvets on the 19th as well, I have been advised to take sterling, but it also advises there are ATM's around so you can draw out cash on your Visa / Visa delta

Where are you stopping, my and the lads are on our first boaring holiday and are stopping in the Iglika Palace

re: Sterling or Lev

Just remember if you take £££ make sure the notes are not marked or ripped. I took £80 out to start with. £60 (3x 20s) were refused as they had pen marks on them. I withdrew cash from the ATM (I'm with HSBC) and they only charged me about £1.50 for every withdraw and I got a rate of 2.74.

Hi

Just Back From Boro. Exchange rate in most places about 2.7. But shop arround, some only offered 2.5.

As stated by others, take pound sterling (new notes only).

Dont take travelers cheques, as they charge you to exchange them.

Some shops will take pound sterling on large items (such as skiwear, skis etc).

Ok guys listen to uncle Kel,
the best exchange rate i was offerd in england was 2.54 lev to £1.
if you exchange with the bank in borovets at the bottom gondala station the rate is 2.7 lev to £1.
choice is yours.
