Sterling

I have been advised to take mostly sterling with me to Bulgaria. Has anyone had any probs with changing to local currency over there? I presume most of the hotels will offer this service (??)

re: Sterling

Loads of places to change your money just be careful you get a good rate ie 2.7+ to £1 you should get 2 .8 in the resort as M&S offer 2.75 here in the UK

re: Sterling

Never had a problem changing English Sterling cash in Bulgaria. Although I have always ensured that it is nice clean and new looking crisp notes

re: Sterling

You'll have no problems exchanging Sterling, just make sure the notes are pristine. They scrutinise each note and will reject any that are marked, torn or both.

re: Sterling

Just make sure you check the exchange rate before you go in - they don't swindle you, but there can be wide variations in the rates offered - as the earlier posts said, 2.7 to 2.8 is about standard.
