Strajite piste closure

The strajite piste in bansko (above ski road to chalin valog) has seemed to of been closed for ages, a bit under two years ago i went on the chair that passes it and a tree had fallen closing it, is the tree still there or has the piste been closed because of lack of snow, and on that point what about the extension to tomba slope, 9a, that's been closed as well, why?

re: Strajite piste closure

By the way, ever noticed how hard it is to follow the piste map around shillinarnika, it would be a lot easier if they included the cliff, wouldn't it?

O.k, if a third comment doesn't kick start this discussion only putting pamps sucks in the title will Exclamation
another idea of mine is about the piste 5a and the end section of piste 10. They are end to end and lead to lower shilingarnika from shili pistes 1 and 2 and have the shilli to plato lift going up by its side.
These always have looked hard for blues so why don't classify them as a new read, just allow shilli 1 and 2 to lead onto the piste going to the chairlift. add a tow lift going ...

These always have looked hard for blues so why don't classify them as a new read, just allow shilli 1 and 2 to lead onto the piste going to the chairlift. add a tow lift going on a bridge over shilli 10 and bingo, a new red and the opening for development in lower shillingarnika, maybe after this a drag could be put up to service strajite piste and as a result if you want to enjoy any of these pistes more than once you don't need to take the long chairs up to plato and ski all the way down again.

re: Strajite piste closure

9a has never been open because of the avalanche that comes in perpendicular to it and because they have created the learner area at the bottom of it. There was word that it would be open this season, maybe when there is more snow. The strajite piste wasn't closed because of The Tree (although it seemed so I agree) but because of a melting river than had eroded the piste and could only be repaired in the summer. It wasn't open this season because there was not enough snow to fill the drainage channels that run across the piste and cold enough temperatures to freeze them. Now its closed because the fire that burned down the restaurant damaged the lift (supposedly). The rest I don't really follow but there is only one steep part on 5 and 10 and drag lifts suck.

re: Strajite piste closure

Still not enough snow on red 12, the only piste in resort with no snow cannons...
As Mat said, the small rivers crossing the piste create a barrier, unless covered...
Regarding the lift, engineers have been in resort and have checked the installation, but to date no reports as to the outcome...

How about a chair or drag from the bottom of the gondola up to Challin Valog to the base of the nursury area ??? would relieve the gondola from some groups who could have their lessons at Challin ...
