Summertime snowboarding ?!?!?!

Discovered new sport last weekend......it's called MOUNTAIBN BOARDING and it hurts lots (so it's got to be good right?)

In fact it is. You strap yourself into a thing that's a cross between a snowboard and a very large skateboard with enormous wheels, stick on lots of padding and point it down hill. Zoom over every jump you can and extra points are awarded if you are still alive when you reach the bottom of the hill. If you can't stop you have to weave between the parked cars at the base ...

bring it on! (NB it get's slippy when it rains - best if you stop at that point)

re: Summertime snowboarding ?!?!?!

You can get them with Brakes but most don't bother. Best thing is to learn how to control your speed and what's outside your current ability. Unfortunately the only way to learn that is by falling Wink. Hence all the padding Very Happy

BTW I can strongly recommend bum pads - trust me - personal experience and all that.

In most centres wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads and helmets are compulsory.
They can all be hired with the board.
Try before you buy.

Ride the Hill centres have lots of different boards so ask them to try a few out.
Personally I've a Nosno but thats because I'm fat!!
Other boards might suit you better.
As a low cost introduction to the sport have a look at the Index catalogue. They had an Exit board for 40 pounds - don't know if they still do.

Good luck Very Happy Very Happy
