We are getting an airport transfer from Sofia to Dolna Banya on Sunday afternoon and need to stop to get supplies for the week. Will there be any supermarkets open in Kostenets, Borovets or Sampkov on Sunday ? Cheers.
Samokov, Billa and T Market and a number of other smaller supermarkets will be open. I believe Billa closes at 8 or 9 o clock on a sunday evening. All supermarkets in Borovets will be open but not sure of their closure time. Probably 10 ish but they are small shops.
Thanks guys, for all your replies. To get this right, Billa and T-Market are both in Samokov, right ? Nothing in Kostenets ? I guess we will be driving down the A1 from Sofia and getting to Dolna Banya via Kostenets, so if there's a supermarket there that would be easier than trying to get up to Samokov.
There is two supermarkets in Kostenets, as you come under the railway bridge, turn left just past the market and they are down there. They are easy to find, and are open Sundays but not sure what time they close?
As you are going to DB are you a Kalina owner (I am from 24 Kalina!!)
I have flights booked for tomorrow morning but not sure if we will be going as waiting for a weather update - Mark was saying a big dump Sat / Sun but I can't risk being stuck at Sofia ...

Paul, thanks for the info. We'll be at the mercy of the taxi driver, so Kostenets is probably better logistically. Alas, we are not staying at Kalina. We have a friend who owns a unit at Golf Club Ibar, so will be staying there. Hope you get out this weekend. Have a good one. Cheers.
