Sunglasses or Goggles?

Hi All,

We're off to Borovets on Sat 28th (from Newcastle) - for first time skiing! Looking for advice on eye wear as I only have sunglasses - should I buy a pair of ski goggles before I go or buy them over there? Do I actually need them or will I get away with just sunglasses?

We're looking forward to "the experience" and can't wait to get over there!

Will post my "adventures" on my return Cool

re: Sunglasses or Goggles?

I got away with sunglasses all of the week last year in Borovets and all bar one day in Pamps this year.

Goggles you can get out there if you need them - you'll only really need them if it's really snowing heavily and you can't otherwise see.

Just back from pamps, first timers to skiing as well. It snowed heavy for three days and my sunglasses where fine. if you need some, buy goggles out there. we are hooked on skiing now and booking today for next year. So be prepared to be hooked!!!

re: Sunglasses or Goggles?

Go for goggles!! u can buy'em at the resort! there are cheap fake ones but with some more levs u can get any major brand u want cheaper than UK!! when i first started skiing i was using sunglasses but once fell on my face, cheek was cut by a piece of glass. So now for 7 years i use goggles whether snowing or not!! Cool

You never know what you might see when you look through beer sunglasses but with beer goggles now that's different.

sunglasses give you a less "ive been skiing" tan which is better I think

re: Sunglasses or Goggles?

I used both but have to say that i found goggles better as they didn't steam up as much. It was my 1st time too!
Have fun and you will be hooked just like sarah & rich said.
I too have booked for next year to go to Pamps and can't wait. Hoping to go to Milton Keynes to polish up on my snowboard skills!!

re: Sunglasses or Goggles?

You will love it you lucky people Smile We have just got back from pamps and having taken glasses and goggles with me I could have easily got away with just glasses. If you need Goggles get them there they were on sale in the shops and on the mountain Wink
