On our last night here In Borovets. its interesting to see what all the threads relate to when you're actually here. thought i'd throw our (party of eight) perspective on it. Firstly a snow report as of 11.29pm on the 18th feb. well whilst its passable up top, the musala run amongst many others are more than a tad icy but fresh snow is predicted Tuesday and then later in the week, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Whilst I appreciate Borovets is far from three valleys, Austria etc, I did find the constant pestering from dubious guys trying to get one to sample the "amaizing food" and "free drink" somewhat tiresome. On that subject I have to share my findings. In 2 words Sunny Bar. just across the way from the Samakov Hotel. Its run by an Anglo, Ausie, Kiwi trio, who have to be the most laid back hosts you could wish to meet. All boarders or skiers or both, they speak our language regardless of what language you speak. the hospitality is great, food, nothing short of amazing (BBQ RIBS). Do try of course some of the other bars, some are good, but don't leave Sunny's until the night before you leave or you'll be gutted.
