Sorry about the title Pete, but thats what i've always known you as, being from the "sunny side" and all that.
Anyway as you are aware of the demise of our once great beachbulgaria forum, i thought i had to register on here to thank you in some way for all the great work you done over there for many years.

Anyway as you are aware of the demise of our once great beachbulgaria forum, i thought i had to register on here to thank you in some way for all the great work you done over there for many years.
When me and my wife first got a computer and took our first steps into cyberspace this was the site we found that we really felt part of, we have been going to Bulgaria since 1987 and it was a great way of spreading our knowledge of that great land but we were learning also, there were so many great posters and it was fantastic to be a part of it all.
It's easy to forget, but during the early days of the forum Bulgaria was not such a well known destination and information was a bit scarce and i'd like to think that we done a lot to inform people of what to expect and warn them of what precautions to take, eg. how many first timers would have been cought out by dodgy money change kiosks if they hadn't read the site, so if even only one poster was spared the nightmare of losing a fair chunk of their holiday cash to some scam then it will all have been worthwhile.
Without getting all misty eyed about this, i think it's fair to say that i'll remember fondly the stupid jokes, the Sunday night quizzes, and the occasional poem from your good self, it was all part of a very good forum.
As for myself,my wife and son we'll continue to go to Bulgaria, it's Varna nowadays for us, with the occasional visit to Sofia, but i'm no skier so i'm no use to this forum, but really i just want to thank you for all you're good work over there and wish you and your family all the best and many more years of fun on this site, and sorry about the time i called you "Smallbone of Devizes"

It has been coming for a while now with all the back-biting and moaning.
Like you I prefer to remember the great days of old when we had a real laugh and everyone got on famously.
Really hope you stick around on this site as your vast knowledge of Bulgaria will be just as useful to many people on this site as it was on the other - and who knows maybe one day we'll get you on a pair of skis! Believe me it's the best fun you can have ...
