Supermarket?

I have been informed that there is a supermarket in Pamporovo, how super is it and is it well stockedre: Supermarket?
There is a supermarket, think of it as a well stocked mini market. You cannot take bags in (you need to put them in a locker) and staff will follow you around in the shop like you are a convict.They seem to think brits go all the way over to bulgaria to nick a bread roll and some tampons.

More of a corner store than a Supermarket - but all the basic necessities can be purchased there.Pete

Hi bobj - if you are just wanting the odd bit of shopping then better than shopping in Pamps you could go down to Smolyan which has several good mini-supermarkets.But if you want to do a serious shop - say for necessities for the week - you pass the new Metro store on the way up to Pamps just after you leave the motorway and before you get to Assenovgrad. Obviously the prices there are worth stopping to shop for.

Hey bobj - why not - just tell them you need a comfort break and then whip round the store quickly
but try Smolyan if you get the chance anyway.

A couple of shops along from the Alaska in Pamps, there is a mini market. Its not very well signposted and you have to go up a flight of stairs and the shop goes round to the back of the building. It is not as well stocked as Alaska but much cheaper! Don't expect them to speak English though.
The Alaska is very odd - its hard to move in there for staff - must be something like 3 members of staff per customer. However - I have always found them very friendly and helpful - you hardly need ...

They did get snotty once though when I didnt' realise they didn't accept credit cards. I had to nip across the road to the Murgavets ATM and they didn't like that at all - they almost INSISTED i use their change facility which I DIDNT want to do at all.
