T/CQS or Cash?

Hi everyone

I'm off to Borovets on Jan 3rd with 14 mates (!), I'm a skiing virgin, but can't wait to get there. I just wondered if you seasoned travellers to Bulgaria would recommend taking Stg Travellers Cheques or cash? I hear exchange rates are high for Cqs, but surely it can't be as much as for cash? Can it? Help! Please?

Iam going over for my first time New Year and have been told NOT to use a credit card as the exchange is terrible. Cash seems to be the best from what i have seen and been told.

Cash is always best, most hotel don't charge commision on Cash but do on T/Chq.

You can't get their currency here before you go, can you? So you're saying its better to take £s Sterling, than anything else? - So different to summer hols in Spain or Cyprus eh?

Thomas Cook will change pounds to levs, interest free, get it sorted before you go !!

Thanks Bod, but during the summer, Thomas Cook told me they couldn't change into their currency. Something about it being a closed currency or something.

you can now get levs in uk but the exchange rate in bulgaria is a lot better, just change a bit then take cash and change in a bank

Lunn Poly tried to sell me US $ !!! Co-Op travelcare sold me levs....

Never been to Bulgaria but I always take cash when I travel
