thank you all for all your advice before my recent trip to Borovets 
WHAT A GREAT HOLIDAY I HAVE HAD
Stayed at the Samokov....as everyone said food was warm but loads of it.
The pool was cold to say the least.....I only used it once.
I was a virgin skier, but not any more thanks to Paco the ski instructor from Samokov.
Having listened to, and seen, other instructors in action he was very layed back and fantastic
mam mia's, franco's, titanic served great food and fun.

DO NOT GOTO the place next to Samokov hotel....I think it was called tyrol....shows how memorable that was....the food was dire!
also beware of the waitresses in the Alpine hotel resteraunt, our order took 1 1/2 hours, and then 2 were raw!
no problems in the evenings.
no ladys of the night harrassing you.
the young girls who advertise the erotic bars are no problem either, they offer you a bit of paper with their place of work printed on it, if you say no they go away!
Met some great people...Hi to Dave, Lucy,Sharon, Georgia, Jevan, Johnathon, John, Suzan, Jacob and Megan!
It snowed, We skied, We had fun, We've got the brochures for next year
I have to say I have nothing to compare this resort with, but it's gonna have to be something really special to beat this....mainly because of the people we met and the fun we had....
any questions just ask i'll try and help....
BTW...used the cash machines....switch....it will only let you draw 200 levs @ a time, but you can draw to your card limit...if you want to...they do charge £1.50 handling fee but my 200 levs came to £71.20...which works out to about 2.8 to the pound......2.5 to 2.7 exchange in the resort!
