You will find many many bargains whilst on your holiday in Bulgaria. Some of these are worthwhile, some are not.
Who's pockets you are lining whilst making these purchases are for you to decide, but I would avoid buying too many 'named cigarettes.'
Bensons, Lambert and Butler, Super Kings, etc. they all look very real. But they are poor copies and are of very low quality tobacco. You will be better off buying the local brand called Victory which are a fraction of the price, and ...

DVD's and CD's are all copies, but mostly play perfect and are generally well worth buying.
Ski and boarding gear as I am sure you already know is of good quality and very cheap.
Bulgarians are genearally up for a barter, so don't be afraid to haggle. They will always be courteous to you, and you will get a better deal if you return this friendship.

Ah and don't forget to warn them that when they re back, if they re controlled at the airport with such copies, the customers will keep the DVD for themselves !Another reason to come next year !!

And what about the other way round. What is easy to get in UK, but not in BG. ie Chockolate eggs (yuk)

bigger numbers of Cigars you can get at the Duty Free Shop in Sofia.
In Borovez in the Samokov Hotel was offered Cigars but not a good quality and they are expensive.
For good Havanas you have to make a trip to Samokov town, there was open a shop for fine coffee and Cigars in the summer. You will find them really esay, if you go by the buses normal they drove to the mainbusstation these is located at the Targorska Street, now you have only to walk left down may be 100 m and ...

If the bus stops not at the busstation, the best is you walk to the station because the buses starts there back to Borovez and from there you will find the shop...
