I've read a few misty reports of a bar on the ski road home in Bansko this year.
Does it exist, or is it a conspiracy theory and whoever finds it meets David Duchovny and is never seen again?
Can someone take a picture of it from the ski road without giving cryptic directions like take the 2nd right after the last bridge where the trees fork over the stream across 5 boulders etc.
Or do I just go back to my hotel and order beer there to make it simple?!
The bar has been closed for a couple of weeks now, something to do with no licence, no sanatation, illegal homemade rakia, to high emmissions from their generator, no insurance, no measures....... and i think the dog had not been spayed
Shame, it seemed perfect to me, back to nature peeing in the stream after half a dozen hot rakia, and it only made you blind for a couple of days (the rakia, not looking at me peeing in the stream)
Ive just got back from Bansko and can confirm the hidden bar is open.
You will find it about 3/4 of the way down the ski road on the left hand side. Start looking for it after the Chalin Valog turnoff. (dont turn off there)It is hidden from the road by trees.
If you look for a large metal hotel sign on the left hand side (its the only sign) the bar is 20 meters past
The drink prices are the cheapest in bansko
500ml bottle of Pirinsko beer is 1 lev 20
100ml of grape brandy is 2 ...

The raki is the same sort of price
dearest thing on the menu is 6 leva (including the food)
The inside of the bar seats 14 and it was nearly always heaving . One group of 8 had been eating and drinking all afternoon and still got change from 50 leva
Be warned though that the sanitation is primitive (Its a garden shed with a hole in the floor) and the electricity is provided by a generator.
When was the last time anyone went to this place?
It's very easy to spot from the ski road - right by the bridge over the river (just take the left fork - it's not hidden or anything) however i didn't realise that was the place as it's never been open.
