The Lodge Hotel, Borovets

Hello!

We are group from Norway, going to Borovets in February. This would be the first time skiing in Bulgaria, and we are really looking forward to this.

We have booked a room at the Lodge Hotel, and we have tried to send some e-mails regarding the hotel and their services. Have not received any answers so will try here:

- We will arrive late but really need some ski service before we hit the slope. Is it possible to get this service in the evening so we can start skiing right away the next morning (really do not want to sit waiting for our skis to ready)?

- Anyone have any experience with the hotel? (really wondering why they don't answer our e-mails)..

Thanks!

Best regards

Bjørn

Hi Norseman,

The Lodge is a beautiful hotel - right next to the Gondola and in my opinion, one of the nicest in Borovets. Bobby has just walked in there to check everything is working and they are - the only reason he went to check is that the property was up for sale and in the hands of the bank for a period, but do not worry! They do have different management now, so you may not be getting responses for that reason.

In terms of the ski hire, who did you book through or have you not ...

re: The Lodge Hotel, Borovets

Bjorn, the lodge have their own ski service/store in the basement, excellant eqpt, they covered us for GS skis for the kids last year. All quite new atomic gear Still owned by the same person, hes english, but direct comms can be fun, i had a mail from them replied to them and then got no answer, i shouldnt get too worried thats normal for Borovets, over the years ive been ignored by most of the hotels when inquiring about rooms!! Cool Cool

re: The Lodge Hotel, Borovets

Thank both of you for quick answers!

Yeah, the Lodge looks like a beautiful hotel and we are really looking forward to our trip (now that you have confirmed that the hotel is still up and running! Smile)

Ok, will not expect answer to our e-mail then!

We will bring our own skis, but need to get some service on em, since we have been kiting quite a lot on rocks Smile

Talking about (snow) kiting; is there any spots near Borovets to go kiting? Have read it might be possible at Markujik 3 ...

Thanks again
