Pete,
Noticed no recent posts on the other new!! site, as the changes are taking place on this site will it mean a closure of the other site.
AM BEING CAREFUL IN MY WORDING SO AS NOT TO UPSET ANYONE!!
The 'other' site was set up 3/4 of the way through the season so it wasn't expected to generate huge footfall. It was more of a statement of how a more secure site could be developed without costing anything rather than a direct challenge to this site. Whether the site grows next year or just slips away only time will tell but I have always given this site my 100% support and have no intention of changing that. Whether the site grows next year or just slips away only time will tell but I have always given this site my 100% support and have no intention of changing that. With the new changes that have been made and the future changes still to come I firmly believe that this site will return to the hugely popular site it was a few years ago.
Thanks Pete,
I only started frequenting this site about Oct/Nov last year, I fully understood the reason for its development, it would seem to an extent that the issues have been addressed and the future of this site preserved.
I have noted that there were a few posters who seemed to only want to antagonise others on the forum, the changes made should stop the abuse of some posters by those who would seem to wish to destroy the forum.

My only reservation is that those who may post something that is true but not to the liking of the host are expelled, I understand that irrespective of the changes, this is still a commercial site funded by bg ski who must protect their advertisers, and also their own position and I suppose only time will tell and I hope that it will be possible when neccesary to explain that a post has had to be deleted and for what reason.
I think most people can understand this but many may accidentally post an item that may need to be deleted to protect the commercial interests of the site owners or indeed to protect them from legal action.
I have noted that in the past that yourself and other moderators have had to remove posts for a variety of reasons and have had the decency to explain why this has happenned, I would hope that this will continue in the future.
I shall continue to visit the other site from time to time but like yourself beleive that this site is better positione to promote bg skiing and be a source of information for future visitors and an excellent forum for those of us who have been bitten by the Bg bug!!!!
Thanks Don - a well balanced post and I agree with you comments completely. Below is a post I made a couple of weeks ago that should address your concerns.
As the new board takes shape - so will the 'powers' of the moderators increase. A new start is needed from all, and that means us moderators too. Our promise to you is that from now on, no post will ever be deleted if the content is fair and just. Nor will it be deleted just because we may not agree with the point of view. If however, ...

As the new board takes shape - so will the 'powers' of the moderators increase. A new start is needed from all, and that means us moderators too. Our promise to you is that from now on, no post will ever be deleted if the content is fair and just. Nor will it be deleted just because we may not agree with the point of view. If however, a post is submitted that has to be deleted, the poster will be notified by e mail of the reason why. If the poster continues to post unacceptable content then they will receive a final warning by e mail. If this doesn't deter them then they will be removed from the site - and with the new format - there will be no way back. We promise only to do this if all other warnings have failed. Lets start off as a happy group and lets stay that way forever - regardless of what has happened before - if I have previously upset any of you - then I'm very sorry - but this is the chance for us all to wipe the slate clean and enjoy this site in the way it was intended. No bans - no deletes - just happy bunnies please!
Sorry Pete,
I didnt see your original post, yes it pretty much covers it, everyone gets the chance to say what they think within reason, and at least are given a warning and a reason if their posts are unacceptable, you cant be fairer than that.
