Just back from Pamps! Was looking to do the Wall but fore some reason they hadn't it groomed. Bit of a pity - lot of pistes were closed which could have been opened in my opinion as there was enough snow at the top. Think they're gonna have to start managing the pistes better otherwise people will stop coming.
Or laziness, was indemic under the communists, takes a while to change a culture. Now if they'd been German, they would have driven two lanes straight into poland by now.
Am almost glad the wall is not open as my son has been badgering me since last year to go down it with him but funnily enough I quite like being alive. My life was in enough peril last year watching him come down it aged 7 but as for me doing it ....certain death me thinks. I just don't think I could ski something so steep. Call me a wuss but at least I will come home in one piece and I'm sure there will be plenty of ski instructors who will volunteer to take him down again if the worst ...

Mine, Josh started skiing on Monday by thursday he was doing black runs with the instructor, on Friday he wanted to do the Harikiri, that kills at least one person a year, I didn't dare take him to Mayerhofen this year.
I was hoping all the blacks would be closed but I guess he will probably go for it anyway. Kids, anyone got a valium?
They came from England, Spain and France,
To try their luck and take a chance,
To ski The Wall was the main attraction,
Avoiding rocks by the merest fraction.
Frenchie was the first to go,
Carving deep through drifting snow,
Tripped and fell while it was snowing,
The last we heard he was still going.
The Spanish guy then started out,
Oley Oley the crowd did shout,
But just like Frenchie, no skill at all,
Another victim for The Wall.
Next to ski was the nervous Dutch ...

Next to ski was the nervous Dutch,
But obvious he'd not skied much,
Tried to snowplough his first turn,
Them Scandie nuts just never learn.
Then came the hard and gritty Brit,
Nerves of steel, couldn't give a shit,
Skied it backwards on one ski,
Not one error did we see.
The crowd all roared with sheer delight,
And praised the guy who knew no fright,
Who was this man who skied so well,
Who braved The Wall and gave it hell.
He wiped a teardrop from his eye,
Through gritted teeth came his reply,
Forget the fame, the milk, the clover,
JUST SHOW ME THE BASTARD THAT PUSHED ME OVER!!!!!!
