The real cost of boarding!

My board is still in great shape, bindings and boots both brilliant, so I'm thinking, should be a cheap year.

So far I've bought a new HD camera, (plus mounts and tripods), a wheeled board bag, wrist guards (that actually fit properly) and have just found a rip under one arm of my jacket! Siiigh

It'll be my first time out this year, my mate who suggested the trip talked us into it with "oh yea, it's really cheap, hotels etc dirt cheap"

Didn't mention ski passes, rental etc.
Then ONTOP i've been kitting my self out! Ebay got me a good couple of deals! But Still need pants Sad need to get paid before i can afford any more though!

It's an expensive hobby I'm getting my self into I can tell! I'm sure you can reassure me it'll be worth it though? Wink

To be honest I'm mainly replacing things that have been on the go for a few years, and the board bag was costing me a fortune in duct tape! But yeah, it's really worth it.

re: The real cost of boarding!

I'll be skiing in salopettes that last saw a proper mountain 11 years ago.... I got a new smock type jacket in the end of season sale 10 years ago in preperation for the next trip then found out my wife was expecting our first.... Surprised

So... after kitting out 3 kids (via Lidl, ebay, friday ad, tacky micks and the car boot), getting a camera (did you see my question re the wide angle lens btw) and promising my wife she can buy some nice new goggles in Borovets (it is cheaper isn't it?) - ...

You hush Steve! Although I do actually want to SKI the ski road this year, just once.

How much for hire for a few hours? Know a cheap place?

re: The real cost of boarding!

You can borrow some of my gear mate, what size boots?
Could this be the start of that long road back? Wink

re: The real cost of boarding!

Size 7 or 8 (40 - 42) Steve, depending on the make of boots.

Dunno, can't imagine doing anything steep on skis but like the idea of doing the ski road. On a snowboard, especially nearer the bottom, it gets a bit sore staying on the same edge for so long.
