i read a post like this last year and thought i should remind those people who have been to bulgaria more than once why it is we go back year after year. its a fair comment to say the skiing isnt the best in europe however we go back because of the atmosphere that you get while you are there the people are very friendly fair enough if you go in to a shop they do follow you but it is there lively hood and they arent very well off people in most casses. it is as good as you make if you go in a bad mood thinking it will be rubbish you will end up having a rubbish time if you go with an open mind to enjoy yourself do some skiing have a laugh and drink odds are you will have a brilliant time and spend probably half the amount you would anywhere with euro a pint for 2.50lev thats like £1.20 you cant even get a coke for that here or france. its a cheap holiday where you deal with what you have infront of you and if you embrace the smokey village and take on all it has to offer you will have an amazing time.
What more is there to add going for seventh trip in feb, thought this was going to be a moan about Bulgaria at first but yes the smokey village gets you in mood to party roll on the 12th
That post Drew may well have been from myself- i have allways described Borovets as a quaint place with a smokey atmosphere from the wood burning stoves- allmost stepping back in time a little-and a place you really have to adopt the locals style and welcome the culture to really appreciate it.
go with an open mind- dont expect the infrastructure of the major Alpine resorts- but appreciate your getting the value of the lev!
