Just been to borovets after 10 years the place has realy gone down hill to many hotels = to many skiers/ boarders they realy need to add ALLOT more runs are the other resorts the same now i guess ?
Knowing a few locals helps.
They took us on off piste runs this year where there was no one around. Plenty of jumps and deep powder, although pretty tiring all the same.
Borovets and the surrounding areas was slated for a big improvement as part of the 'Super Borovets' plan. However, the man that was financing the whole project - the head of DZI bank - was murdered recently, and this has cast doubt, or at least a massive delay over the whole thing.
So its not just me who thinks this then i realy think they need to get in gear " not just words ", because it realy has been spoiled in my opinion and it was such a great budget place to ski.
Reading another post on here about Andora they should realy take a leaf from there books as they had the same problems but have now have extended there piste and lift systems dramatically still bulgarian people are much more friendly.
Hopefully it improves soon and i return agian to the place i ...
