For everyone going out to Borovez, the expensivst place I had seen there is the small shop in Rila Hotel right at the Bar. A beer cost in these shop 2 to 2,50 lev. A bottle of beer, and it is no Bar it is a shop, if you walk down 50 m into the Hotel there is a other shop and the beer is around 1,30 lev. Better but expensive.
The wine up in the shop is 300% of the normal bulgarian price, and you what do you think the shop is full of tourists????
Why.....
Have a small walk today look for the Lion it is only 5 walking mins. away from Edelweiss Hotel and looks good.
Not sure why anyone pay the prices they want to charge you, found a lot of signs in front of a lot restaurants with these "Namalenie sa bulgaria"... you can have a look in a dictionary or read this "discount for bulgarians", so there is a new law but nobody is interessting in. Oh, the discount is round about 50% and then you know what the real price will be.
Okay enough against Bars and Restaurants in Borovez, got a lot of great diners in my Hotel down in Samokov town, Hotel is clean, new build and familiar runed. So the price per night is 17 euro in a single room, big bed, tv set, balcony and giant bath room. The breakfast is okay and last evening I got one of the Specials of the Hotel a mix from "Steak Balkantourist" and "Pork Filet Vreteno". For everyone don't know. A Vreteno is a filled pork filet, stuffed with pickeled cucumbers, ham, mushrooms and cheese. The Balkantourist is a filet, on toasted bread with a 2 fried eggs covered. Both was a giant dish of fine prok filet on bread covered by cucumbers, mushrooms, ham, fried eggs and cheese. These small snack was served with french fries, vegetables, and saome salat for the giant amount of 6,90 lev....
Anymore questions??? and it was delicious...
we got this discussion some years ago, it is traditional food, and no toxic mixture, only in jewish cuisine it is not allowed to mixed these.
And I know things as this I'm chief chef...
