On 28th February and 1st March Bansko will host the FIS ski women’s world cup. All Balkan Holidays customers who are in resort during this period will be given free tickets to watch the event. The fact that Bansko have been awarded this prestigious event is testimony to its excellent facilities and skiing.
I would presume that the Tomba run and that particular area will be closed on the 27th for preparation and possibly on the 26th as well, but I cannot get this confirmed.

Last year they closed it two weeks early for preparation, the trouble is that they close the whole course, so you cant ski half of the mountain. I would rather they did not have it.
I must agree with both. It's great to have an event like this happening in Bulgaria, but also as you say Dave, if they close of half the mountain for two weeks, that doesn't seem all that great.
You wouldn't think it needs to be for that long.
I know somebody who was in Kutzbuhel whe the famous downhill is on, I'll try to find out how long it is closed there for the prep. just to compare
And that is one of the world's most prestigious ones, if not the ONE.
