Gents

This is what I heard

In Borovets there is a massive renovation programme going on to update the Rila Hotel, as this is owned by Borosport the word seems to be that this may be the focus of their attention and expenditure this season. We don't know but some people have told us that there will be cannons on the Red Flag slope

Streveti,
It would be great if the Cherveno Zname was cannoned, I love the little bowl and would be good for the resort, but I think Borosports don't own that run its owned by the council I believe, so that could scupper it, but here's hoping.
They had started the renovations of the hotel when I was there three weeks ago.
Looking forward to another hopefully great season !!

Even though the main invasion may be shifting to 22nd Feb will still be going end of Jan as I like to torture myself if the snow is poor.

Hi,

Going back to Borovets in late December. Does anyone know where you can find out what changes are planned / happening for the resort ?

Regards

re: Too early to start planning.

As I said in an earlier message Leo, it would appear not much due to the extensive work on the The Rila hotel. I could of course be wrong. I think most of us will wait until Kas and Bobby return from Sunny Beach to get our 1st official update unless one of the Samakov residents is watching, Gerry/Sandra any updates for us?

re: Too early to start planning.

Hi
We were out in July, and as stated above, there was massive works going on at the Rila Hotel. There appeared little else being done! But a couple of Bar owners confirmed that Borosports now has the concession on the Cherveno Zname ( red flag ) slope and if they finish the hotel on time. They will apparently snow cannon and light up this slope.
We are out again end September so will have a look again.
Looking forward to another season, hopefully see you there!!!
All the best John, ...

re: Too early to start planning.

Thanks I could not quite work out where Red Flag was now I know. The bit that I would add cannons to is the top of Yastrebetz 1 to the Gondola so you can go from mid to top and round. Last season (we were again there in late December) we had to walk that bit to use Haramia.

Should have given an intro - this will be my families (me - wife - 19 year old Son and 17 year old Daughter) 3rd year to Borovets all were beginners and really like the place. 1st 2 years in Flora this year in ...

re: Too early to start planning.

I'm assuming you mean Samokov hotel rather than Samokov town? Many of us on here keep coming back too. The only comment that I have is that December tends to be a hit and miss regards the conditions
