Have done this journey on 2 previous holidays to Bansko.
The road is variable with the condition of the road surface being poor with lots of pot holes in some places.
There are no steep drops but he road does go over a range of mountains and the drops again before climbing up again to Bansko.This means that if there has been lots of snow the journey can be slow and take 3 and half hours.
There is a stop but only limited time and food and drink available at 11pm or so at night. I ...

There is a stop but only limited time and food and drink available at 11pm or so at night. I thoroughy advise taking snacks and sandwiches, sweets etc to eat on the
coach journey.
I don't regard the journey being dangerous in any way providing the driver knows the road and is sensible.
