We can only get flights to Plodiv to then transfer to Bansko. The tour operator is saying a minimum of 3 1/2 hours (yuk). Does anybody have any experience of this.
Yes, it's only about 170k, but the roads are so rubbish that it takes for ever, they did offer us a stop but we opted not to as we were only an hour away, took us 3hrs to get to Bansko from Plov, on the return transfer it took 4hrs but we did have a stop and there was a lot more snow.
Did this transfer last year, and will be doing it again 4th March.
Not to bad the problem is that they climb up on e mountain range with lots of snow, then drop down to no snow! but its gets better as you climb up towards Bansko.
Take some food and drink. But we stayed in the strazite and where given a packed lunch and a bottle of water when we go there as dinner had finished. the only bad bit is that you need to get upacked and have an early start the next day to get your gear/passes ...
