Can any body advise on the best and most reliable way to transfer between Sofia airport and Borovets?

The cheapest way is to catch the bus no 84 from terminal 1 or 284 from terminal 2.
You have to pay for your person and your bagage don't forget. You get out at Hotel Pliska and have then a short walk 7 to mins crossing a upper quarter of Sofia to bus station south (yug) there you can catch the bus to Samokov in january the tickets was 5 lev.
The last bus is going 20:30. From Samokov you even can catch a bus to Borovez but the last one here is around 18:30 or 19:00.

You can get a cab from the airport, just make sure it legite from the taxi rank outside. There are always loads of cabbies wanting your business inside the terminals, stay clear of them unless your prepared to take a risk! You might be able to barter the price with the yellow cabs, i was told one way would be 100 lev but managed to get it down to 90.Its usually cheaper to get a cab from borovets. Usually 80 lev.
