Travel and transfer from Glasgow

I'm planning to go at end of March for long weekend.Has anyone gone from Glasgow.Do you know the best airline option? Bulgaria air seem quite dear and BA seem another option,but also quite pricey.Also I have read varied reports on here about the transfers from the airport.Is it worth pre-bookin the one on this site? Time is of the essence and don't really want to wait more than coupla hours to get to Bansko from Sofia,however if there is a decent cheaper option....eg-taxi??

It will take 2.5 hours minimum to get to Bansko from Sofia and longer if the roads have snow problems. Just get the cheapest deal you can to Sofia. Don't go to Plovdiv, it takes 3.5 - 4 hours to get to Bansko from there.

Thanks Val,Looks like the best might be BA for me (if I go via London) Is the transfer booked via this website best option or is there a cheaper option that takes similar amount of time? Also would you advise to fly in morning or afternoon??

Fly in the morning if you can then you should be in Bansko by early evening. I had a 10.30 flight from Gatwick and arrived in Bansko at 7pm which was great. Just in time for a drink and dinner.

Re transfer where are you staying cos sometimes they will sort out a transfer for you. Otherwise you could try from here but I'm not sure if they will do a transfer if you have not booked a holiday through them.

we`ve booked 2 yrs on the bounce to fly from G`gow BUT then the bandits change the flights from manchester. Not sure if itll be easier to go to engerland then fly over

Flying Via London with BA early morning so should get there by evening like you say.

I've requested Snowplough apartments and emailed the rep off this site to ask about transfer.See what they say!
