hmmm....methinks possibly a bit hasty, but it is certainly looking interesting next week as previously mentioned, and even after that.. I would say as opposed to the usual 'less than 10% chance' we are facing a lot nearer 50/50 chance......but great stuff for sticking your nexk out!!...meanwhile BG still looks good for at least the next week and possibly beyond also
Hi Mark ,snow in southern England maybe, but not here on the I.O.Wight. Mind you last year we were building 5ft snowmen in our garden here in S/down .Can't see me skiing on Brading down tho .lol.
Having looked at the data again, the lead up to christmas is quite interesting but things could change by Monday ! As for the snow last year on the iow, SNAP lol cos Im in Sandown too !
I have now moved back to the IOW (East Cowes) having been away for some years after growing up here - snow here would be FAB!! We were in New Forest last year when it snowed and had great time in our toboggans (swiftly bought from the ski shop in Soton) sliding down the hill in Lyndhurst.
We saw a few flakes come down when in Ryde in Feb this year on a day visit but no more than that.
Now - me being an oldy (41) - I remember trying to walk from Whippingham ...
Hello Mark and Nigel
I have now moved back to the IOW (East Cowes) having been away for some years after growing up here - snow here would be FAB!! We were in New Forest last year when it snowed and had great time in our toboggans (swiftly bought from the ski shop in Soton) sliding down the hill in Lyndhurst.
We saw a few flakes come down when in Ryde in Feb this year on a day visit but no more than that.
Now - me being an oldy (41) - I remember trying to walk from Whippingham estate to Osborne Middle School one year with snow drifts up as high as the hedges, jumping into it and being buried and building major snowmen etc etc. A few years later when living in town in East Cowes we had snow and, living on a hilly road, it was all about sliding down the hill on a tray!! Aw - those were the days!!!
