Just cannot beleive they still have not released prices. In my opinion it is because there may be some decisions not popular and by releasing them late they will soon be swept under the carpet by the season opening etc etc ....... why else would they not release them. It was said prices would not change but we have heard rumours that they may be doing away with season pass and putting a 40day pass in...... ????? Come on Ulen put your tourists in the picture why is it always last to hear ...

re:Ulen Prices
Hi Wen, we do not normally hear about our prices until a few days before the season starts but this year Borosport announced them early, maybe because it was good news with the lift passes staying the same price as last year. The season pass has gone up from 900 to 1000 Leva but it is still good value. Also contact less lift passes passes this year, no more ticket on an elastic string.
Well they haven't put full prices up yet but today they have put up "early special Offers" starting tomorrow with 2runs open. From 14th december it will go to what ever price they are deciding to put on.
Involved in this as my post above......... The Bansko Premium Pass is 40 days and is not consecutive days. Good I hear you say...... yes for those that come 3/4times a season but price is the price of a full season pass last year 1500lv. There is no full season pass(or not as yet) so if ...

Do you not think this is a tactic to totally monopolise/control the ski tuition on the mountain?
For locals how many days a season would they really go skiing?
I'd guess weekends or maybe a week too if they have annual leave but that wouldn't add up to that many days in totality
Whatever if that does happen its a notable financial impact to those who have always taken season passes previously.
Is it permittable for such a number of companies to be vertically integrated ...

Is it permittable for such a number of companies to be vertically integrated and moving profit margins to different areas ie they might on the face of it make no money on ski tuition while they make a lot on gondola. Are there any Bulgarian tax incentives whereby overall they would be on a lower corporation tax rate in doing this? Or is it simply to eliminate the small companies or one man bands who are trying to make a living teaching skiing ?
Or are they just going to announce the prices later?
So this means that independant ski instructors will be unable to complete on price vs Ulen.
Could this be a case for the Competition commission?
Also for a private individual who wants to ski on and off for the entire season this move will quadruple the costs......(more expensive than other resorts and other countires.)
What have other Ski instructor providers and ski hire companies voiced so far about this move?
Will it end up being that Ulen are given a % of all companies profits and are then allowed to issue full season passes or are they head in the sand and kill competition?
As far as I understand it they bought a 30 year licence for the mountain maybe they are now forcing through changes to enhance the returns - but how they can do it without competition commission getting involved is beyond ...

I personally like commercial competitiveness best wins in the long run but when you have an in level playing field its pathetic /ruthless /naive.
Hope it works out for all in this business as clearly its a game changing move.
All ski hire shops and instructors hvae been told there prices have to fall in line with Ulen and they cannot operate cheaper. If they dont do this then they will shut. What chioce do they have?? These are the shops that are linked to the ski federation which is basically most.
