re: VEGETARIAN!!?!?

All meals are basic, plenty of salads, potatoes & boiled rice. Being a veggie myself I generaly have a good feed, but I'm not to picky on what to eat. Dinning out on the slops, try some of the local food (bean soup is good, chunky & wholesum & also I've tried a grated potato & cabbage fritter, cann't remember the name, but its excellent) I'm off on the 28th so I see what its like then. Very Happy Booze

re: VEGETARIAN!!?!?

Patatnik (the potato fritter)
Sarmi--stuffed vine/cabbage leaves
Potatoes in various forms
Salads
Omelettes
Bob Chorba (Bean soup)
Leshte Chorba (Lentil soup)
Zelentchootse Suppe (Veg soup)

Have written the above how it should be pronounced in Bulgarian

Also if you say Bez Messo/Bez Reeba---means no meat/no fish

Az Sum Veggeterian--i am vegetarian

GOOD LUCK!

re: VEGETARIAN!!?!?

my daughter lived on either potatoes or chips with what ever veg there was. not the same choice as in the uk but the veg soup on the slopes is very good and they also do cheese in batter deep fried don't know what its called but also very good high in fat though but if theres not much choice try what they have got,

re: no problem whatsoever

Veggie food is very popular in BG,
breakfast is completely vegetarian
lunch-salads, soups, omelettes, fish, excellent cheese dish called gyuveche, sarmi, stuffed peppers with eggs & cheese.
If someone has a problem finding veggie food, he's just way too lazy to ask or look for it.
Traditional Bulgarian food is mainly vegetarian , anyway!
