I have no idea about this, but in general I would say Bulgaria is cheap enough that you can make extra arrangements when you arrive e.g. buying equipment or protective gear, or arranging private lessons for him/her. You could try asking the instructors how much they charge for private lessons (i.e. outside the tour operator / hotel / ski school; pay the instructor direct). Having said that I found my instructor great at catering for the differing standards that emerged during the week. From your other posts you seem to be worried about having everything prepared - I found Bulgarians very friendly and as it's much cheaper than the Alps you really don't have to worry about forgetting things or having extra lessons - you'll have a great time!
