Verbier anyone ?

Hi all,
Off to Verbier on Saturday for the week. Not been to Switzerland before. Anyone any experience of Verbier ? It sounds like it's great for 'off piste' but I'm not quite there yet.Would like to be so I could explore Bansko a bit further. Not a lot of snow at the moment but there is 50cm due this week.
Cheers
Steve

Won the lottery ? you'll wish you had when you get there Wink That said it is an awesome area, very glitzy in the town with some great bars.. try the 'Farm' bar, been around for years and still popular.. fingers crossed for the snow, not sure they have cannons now, deffo did not when i was there a few years ago...

Thanks Steve, I'm on a ski course so won't be going mad and the deal includes £100 of beer vouchers for the bar (that'll be two rounds then). It has snowed overnight so looking better !

Luckily for you we have plenty of snow here, and its snowing right now, and the forecast is for snow for the next few week.
Don't worry about the Farm club etc nothing will be open until about the second week of Dec (night club wise).
Beer is about 7.50 chuffs

And yes there are plenty of snow cannons in Verbier, more and more each year.........

7.50 chuffs ???? im assuming thats euros and not small birds ? Not bad i suppose, similar to France.... Ok, 5 times what im paying here, but it is the Alps...
Are the 3 main areas now well linked ? i was there 20 years ago or so and if memory serves there were a couple of places we had to use taxis... Looking at the map it does look a fantastic area, millionaire skiing (literally)... If money was no object eh ??

re: Verbier anyone ?

Certainly looks very different to a few days ago Kev. I assume they will be opening more lifts/slopes up from Saturday ? We are in Hotel Du Verbier and will make the most of the complimentary wine with dinner. My table dancing days are over so quiet apres will do just fine. As for chuffs I assume Swiss francs ? Roll on Bansko in Feb...
