The whole of Europe suffered unusually higher winter temperatures than normal, hence lack of snow..maybe something to do with El Nino because that has effected weather world wide.
As for BG, already booked for 2008...the prospect of a second season being as bad is fairly remote as things should get back to normal..who cares anyway..nowhere else was better and Borovets ROCKS !!
Doubt I'll be back for a few years, pretty much skied the area out now in Bansko - assuming that the new runs may get sorted (one day!!), then I'll prob go back in the future, but prob be somewhere in the PdS or 3V in France next year. Trying Chamonix in 4 weeks time at Easter, so will be interesting to see the difference - around 4 m of snow up top there...
I've had some great times in BG (Boro x 3, Bansko x 1 and Pamp x 1) but the prices have increased so much that this year I got a cheaper skiing in France. In a massive resort, snow sure with uncrowded pistes and much, much better food everywhere.
The low point for me in BG was them putting 21 beginners in my childrens group. Appalling...
