WINDY Bansko??

Hi all ...

We lost 2 days skiing due to high winds in Bansko this year (Feb)...just want to know if this is a common feature of Bansko ...i.e. high winds ....of course I understand the health & safety reasons but it is massively frustrating to be chomping at the bit and then finding the lifts are closed off!

depends on whos staying there depends on how high the winds are

we had no problem the week later I remeber as I kept watching the web cam and hoping that it died down and we wouldnt have a problem.

this is nature not office space and paper pushing .do you want everything to be planned, arranged and done the way you want it.boring.

No but like lord says its just frustrating when your chomping at the bit and cant go, bet you had a few days in bar though

The gondola was closed for a day due to high winds when I was out there in March this year. Unfortunate and rather annoying as it was first day and I was raring to go but hopefully it is not a common occurence - this had not happened when I was there the year before - and hopefully it won't when there this year but with weather, who knows! I went out and enjoyed the town and had a drink etc. Just lovely to be in Bansko.

which day was it not around 4th march? they claosed the gondla due to too many people we were skiing all day. saw a guy in the bar when we came off the slopes he was in his jeans and said the slopes had been closed all day due to high winds, not the slopes I was on, but there were two days when they were closed and you can tell when they are as the slopes are empty.

Fortunately, I haven't been in bansko when they have had to close the lifts. This will be my 4th winter in Bansko.
