Weather Report a la PP

So many worried about weather........ welcome to Bulgaria weather reports.con.

Let me try and ease the tension by telling you this.

This is the first year in 13 that I have not been to Pamporovo. I have always travelled there for 2 weeks, last week in Jan, first week in Feb. ALWAYS the weather reports have painted a gloomy image only to find when I get there the snow was brilliant. And I'm sure this year will be no different.

My prediction is this.

Currently there are icy patches in Pamporovo which is not unusual for this time of year, but the higher up you go the better the conditions.

I have not looked at ANY weather reports, but you can get back to me if I'm wrong.

The rest of this week will be a mixture of bright sunshine by day, cold nights, and light to moderate winds. Come the weekend the days will be more overcast, and snow will develop on Sunday or Monday with moderate falls into the week. Brighter again by the end of next week before heavier falls will come in and be more prolonged.

It has been like that for me for 13 years in a row...... so lets hope I have not jinxed the place by not going this year.

We'll talk on this again next week, and I bet I say ... I TOLD YOU SO Razz

Ok Pete....it's John who wrote the "honest" report about our stay in Bansko (Bisev) over Xmas. Going back on 4th Mar (told you we might, Bisev again...... Feb wasn't going to happen) so what's the weather going to be like? And rest assured will make another post on return. All the best John.

re: Weather Report a la PP

February is always the best month in Pamporovo, however having never yet been to Bansko I cannot be sure that it's the same. Early March should be brill, and if you're not up to your noses in snow, I'll eat my ski poles.

Borovets has had some unfavourable reviews on the snow conditions so far this year.

re: Weather Report a la PP

I should imagine Bansko and Pamps probably have very similar patterns of snowfall, if not the same snow amounts. I expect it to be ok so will let you know. I havn't been to Pamps but as pointed out in earlier review think Bansko is worth a look (going back 7 weeks later so can't be all bad) and to be honest couldn't have run to two breaks in the Alps (though a fortnight in Canada in one hit is still cheaper than two seperate weeks in BG). Any way will post closer to the departure date as the ...
