For some peculilar reason the weather has done a complete reversal of what was predicted on 'snow forecast' (strange that ?) This morning it was -8 in our village, Bansko likely to be a couple of degrees colder, everything has frozen including our swimming pool
Heavy white frost that looks like snow..... cannon time ??? you bet 
Today is a clear sunny day, views of the mountains are stunning, snow topped and inviting.... unfortunately got to work 
ah well, always tomorrow

Well that's good to hear then, as i seriously am getting worried now, just over a month to go and they (well borovets in particular by the looks of it) can't even get their snow cannons going with the ridiculous temperatures... when is it going to end and with lot's of precipitation, i'm praying there isn't a repeat of this year, as we've done bansko the last 3 years and wanted to go back to borovets as it was bad snow back in 2010, i will literally be so gutted.

Try BBC weather page and in the search bar in the top right hand corner type in Europe's weather and you get a 24 hour out look. You should be able to gauge the next few days of precipitation from the weather maps. Unfortunately temperatures look to stay on the mild side. On the home page the BBC also offer a winter sports guide... if you scroll down to BG you get a short paragraph explaining the condition at each ski area in Bulgaria. Hope this helps.Pete

Pamporovo able to get the canons and guns working last night.Not too bad today on the Pistes they have open.
The 5 Pistes today looking good.
The team been working really hard to more snow around to ensure a sound start to the season.
More snow always welcome, but I have been told whenever possible the machines will be working. There is plenty of water!
'Real snow' forecast a bit later in the month

I have been in Borovets for just over a week and fly back tomorrow. If anything it seems to be getting warmer! the snow is melting away and the snow cannons have not been on since last weekend .I am not a skiier,but my partner is has been quite disappointed at the complete lack of skiing and effort to get even one run open! I am coming back on 30/12 so hopefully it might be better then.
On the plis side (not much use if you are an avid skiier ,i know) the horse riding and ice skating in ...

KarenYour partner was disappointed with lack of ski runs open!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is Bulgaria (most of the Alps don't have enough snow to ski yet). You cant run snow cannons unless it is several degrees below freezing!!!
Hopefully there will be snow when you come at the end of December. But if you want to guarantee snow, wait till March!
