well gang--referring back to my update 5 dec it does still look good with the expected low pressure giving some more snow early next week, and indeed it does still show good potential to turn colder, and staying cold for a while as we approach the festive period. The key to this will be a high building to the north east (scandinavian area) which will then feed colder air from the northern areas of russia. I agree.The high looks like it could build from Wednesday and hang around for a few days, bringing the cold north Easterly air and moisture with it which, hopefully, will rotate around to give some good results for a while.
As always, things can change quickly so please dont take this as a cert !!
