Hi everyone,

The next 7 days models are quite complicated because of the height in which water will freeze and fall as rain or snow. This time of year the charts should be a little more stable and easier to say "its going to snow" but they are not.

The high pressure that has dominated the lower Balkan area, which gave temperatures of +15c in Borovets last week (and I was there sunbathing!) has finally moved away.

So for the next 7 days it looks a bit like this.

Firstly the bad news. Things will warm up again heading towards next weekend but there will be either rain or snow depending on altitude and this is the same throughout the whole of the week its predicting rain or snow, that’s the hard part.

Next weekend (19th, 20th) could be a good dump, but depending once again on altitude. Early indications suggest snow above 1700m above sea level. There is a lot to come and will last constantly for 24 hours if not more, but I can give you a better indication midweek.

So in summary, bits and pieces all week with some reasonable snow (maybe and inch or 3) Wednesday and Thursday...a rise in temperatures Thursday day through to Saturday day and then a good dump during Saturday into Sunday (more accurate midweek for this) Temperatures will drop during Saturday and any rain will turn to snow as the cold front pushes through if its not snow already.

For the following week, very early and not necessarily accurate data is showing a drop in temperatures and a prolonged bout of snow. Please dont hold me to this because it is a long way away but fingers crossed !!

First prediction of the season for me, so please dont shoot me just yet and we shall see how it pans out.
