What's new?

Looking to revisit Borovets this coming january. Havențt been for 4 years.

It would be appreciated if someone could answer any of the following?

What's changed?

Are there any new runs or lifts.

How efficient is the snow making?

Which is the best bar? Very Happy

Thanks in advance and... may the snow gods bless you with a big dump. (of snow.)

Hi Ian,

What are you drinking??

Hi John,

No new runs, but some have been improved i.e. widened, snow making has improved quite a bit more on the Rila side.

Best bar, mm let me see !!!! Bobby's of course, Still 10 % discount for board members at some of the bars. and Georges bar is still in the forest!!

When in January are you going? there are a couple of us nice quite people, who enjoy a glass of milk and an early night going on 25th Jan!!!

UP THE INVASION!!!!!

Hi John

Since you came 4 years ago they have increased the number of snow cannons - for example 3 years ago they increased the number on the Yastrebets slopes and also the rila slopes - as of yet, there are still none on the Markudjik slopes as Borosport have not been granted permission to build a new reservoir up there which is how they would service the cannons. The existing cannons ensure you can ski even if there hasn't been much natural snow. They only work at -4 though so as long as ...

The existing cannons ensure you can ski even if there hasn't been much natural snow. They only work at -4 though so as long as temps remain cold they provide adequate coversage on Rila & Yastrebets slopes.

There are lots of good bars in Borovets and I'm sure people have their favourites!

Hope this helps!

Kas

A little bit came our way already.
We had a Bobby's bar excursion to the 7 Lakes last weekend and there was snow higher up.
As a precaution against the elements Bobby was armed with rakia to fend off the possibility of frostbite.

re:What's new?

People, I think that it's fair to say that a couple of the runs have had some widening take place and a couple have been 'levelled' slightly in parts. The snow park wasn't in existence and one or two of the cut throughs have been extended. The drags on Markidjuk 2 and 3 have been replaced with a chair and the increased snow cannons on Yastrebetz sometimes make for some interesting terrain to ski on (if like me you are stupid)

re:What's new?

Cheap mate, especially if you can get Snow Plough to get them in!!! but be warned if you are out last week in Jan, do not in any circumstance get into rounds with D,But!!
Apart from being expensive it is most certainly BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH, just ask the chef in Bobby's!!
