I've just had the best holiday of my life in Borovets. Stayed at the hotel Rila, i was really worried about the food situation after what i'd read on this site but it was not all that bad- it wasn't piping hot but it was edible so we didn't starve.

Hello all
I've just had the best holiday of my life in Borovets. Stayed at the hotel Rila, i was really worried about the food situation after what i'd read on this site but it was not all that bad- it wasn't piping hot but it was edible so we didn't starve.
The prostitutes etc were not as obvious as i'd expected either, we wouldn't have known they were there if i'd not read about them, there were only 3 of them and they only tried it on with the all male groups. Copied cd's in the rila are top quality- not sure about the dvd's we didn't buy any.
It was fairly icy for the first 3 days, by the time the snow came we were all experts at turning and sliding which made the powder SOOOOO much fun. Our instructer Krum was fantastic, he stayed with us all week instead of just the 3 days we'd booked. He brought us down from the top of the gondola in the snow ( -20 had ice on the inside of our goggles!) on wednesday, what a rush.
We won't be going on a beach holiday again, can't believe we've never done this before- can't wait to book for next year BULGARIA RULES!!!
Glad you had a great holiday. We go in 10 days, can't wait.
Can you tell me is the gym any good and do they provide towels for the swimming pool. Also how casual is the resturant and what does everyone wear their boots in the hotel?
Just returned from a week in Pamporovo. Going to Borovets 14th Feb. Of my group of twelve in Pamps, every one vowed to return to Bulgaria to ski. Seems they must be doing something right at about the right price.
Take your own towels to the pool, dress in the hotel is very casual, you can wear whatever you fancy. We didn't use the gym although it did look fairly modern, too tired from the snow boarding to go for a run!
