What about Bansko?

I went to Borovets last year (Samokov hotel). Had a great time and would have loved to go back this year. However, purse strings are (very) tight. However I have seen late deals for Bansko for £120! Very tempting but why so cheap? What is wrong with the place?!!!

Has anyone been to both Bansko and Boro? Can anyone give me an honest opinion on Bansko?

Would be grateful for any constructive comments.

Bansko is in its infancy. It is a little jewel under development. In a few years time it will be of Olympic standard.

For now, it's worth getting in on the ground floor.

Give it a shot. We'd rent you our apartment but I'm not allowed to advertise it here.

Have just returned from Boro - my daughters ski instructor used to instruct in Bansko, and told me it's in it's early days, he said the instructors were very inexperienced but the skiing good - he said Boro was definately the best resort by far in Bulgaria - I saw those late deals too, and I would go for it if money is tight

Ive been to pamps and bansko. Bansko is brill and thats where were going in feb. Dave D, we'd be interested in your place too, how do we get in touch?

Bansko really is, in my opinion, the best resort in Bulgaria. They also have the best off-piste terrain if that is your thing.

I've been to Bansko and Pamps and both have their own different charm. In Bansko everything is new from the start of the gondola to the end of the day. Pamps is better for food on the slopes and the atmosphere with the ski instructors is better. Bansko is simply better for skiing and evening entertainment. £ for £ it would be Bansko for me everytime but I did miss some of the guys & gals from Pamps.
