Also are the drinks expensive

The meals are set out buffet style and you can eat as much as you like. It's not the best food I've tasted in hotels but the variety more than makes up for that. The drinks are expensive (for bulgarian standards) if you decide to buy inside the restaurant room (where all the meals are held). We just brought bottles of red wine and beer and walked in with them, we didn't have any problems with that, but in saying that I didn't think the management would tell-off a group of 8 big guys!!

Drink prices in the many little markets downstairs in the Rila are dirt cheap. A large bottle of GOOD beer is around 30p or 45cents Euro and the bottles of wine is around about 2-3 pounds 4-5 Euro.
