Seriously? 18 degrees again? I'm gonna have to consider a Scottish snowboarding holiday next year, it's bloody freezing here in the UK... is someone pointing a doomsday weapon at borovets? Is Bulgaria single handedly causing global warming haha I'm not doing a snow dance any more, I'm going to have to do a ritual sacrifice to the gods of snow if I want to board at this rate!
I was in Serre Chevalier last week and the warmth at resort level (1500) metres was noticeable although at altitude it was a lot cooler. El Nino has given Europe a very mild winter to date and Bulgaria has been in the firing line over the last couple of weeks with warm pulses pushing up from North Africa. The good (ish) news is that after this week it looks like colder air from the North will move in with snowfall forecast from next Tuesday. This is obviously a long way off in forecasting ...

This is nothing unusual for Borovets!
I am afraid for the last 10 years or so - OTHER THAN LAST YEAR the snow has been MOSTLY (not always, but mostly) very poor taken over the course of the skiing season.
16 degrees at the Rila is not uncommon, even in January.
