What type of money?

Can anyone advise me what is the best currency to bring to Bulgaria? I have the option of bring either Euros or Stirling. On average, which has the best exchange rate?

Will it be possible to exchange Euro’s without difficulty when in Bulgaria? How new do the notes have to be?

whatever mate but just make sure you bring lots of it )))

Better stirling you save on changing your pounds to euros and then to leva
In BG you do that direct £ - leva

Take Euro Paul, there is no problem in Bulgaria to change Euro in Lev because the Lev is fixed at the Euro, as in former times at the german mark, and the rates are normally really good around 2,94 in Borovez and Sofia

Sorry at all wrong type the euro is in the changing offices around 1,94 lev...
the pound is around 2,76 lev and Topper, sorry but the official rate for euro to lev is 1 euro = 1,95583 lev. The same rate as the DM was changed into euro.
