re: What would you do?

Balkan phoned me about 11am today and allowed me to do a bit of research before swapping - they still allowed the swap at 4pm today. Swap was like for like - the Bansko accommodation was actually more expensive but they didn't charge the difference which I thought very reasonable. Must admit never been skiing before but liked the look of Bankso with the older part and the choice of restaurants. Not sure I will take to skiing so liked the idea of exploring a town rather than pamps which just looks like a muddy nothing at the moment - aplogies to those of you who love it but the webcams are not doing any justice today. Am also terrified of chair lifts so the gondola looked a better option - my neighbour tells horror stories of going around several times in a chahir lift with mounting audiences before she had the courage to jump!!

re: What would you do?

Charlie, I can understand your decision under those circumstances (Pamporovo's webcams have never done it justice!). Maybe they'll offer me boro. Maybe they'll tell me I'm too late when I ring tomorrow. Who knows?

re accommodation: I'm a bit overly fussy and really didn't want to be staying in an apartment block or hotel. I don't think they have anything available that would suit us (from scouring their website). Borovets does.

Oh cripes!

re: What would you do?

I like Bansko but it had changed a lot since the last time I was there, my main reason for not going back is lack of runs we had skied the whole area in a day. Go and have a good time.

re: What would you do?

there is not enough snow forcast to fix pamps, bansko has more now forecast and has more on the ground now.
I can believe that pamps is an excellent small resort when it has great snow, but it is always going to suffer when it loses more than half of its 25k of slopes ( the green run must be a complete no no, so i don't know how you would get off the mountain!

re: What would you do?

Anyone bored with Bansko's runs in a week would be bored within 3 days at pamps.
