They told us on the coach home that a cable car is planned for Pamps, from the centre of the resort to the mountain ... but they also said that none of the tour operators have mentioned it in any brochures, 'cos quite frankly, they'll believe it when they see it.

You could always try Bansko instead :-)

The cable car idea will never happen in Pamporovo. Why? Well it would take at least 15 minutes to get there, then 15 minutes back. Thats half an hour to wait if you miss it. How many would it take? 30 at most? There are over 1,000 people staying in the resort centre area, so that would be some queue.

Some have mentioned a lift-link with Chepalare, 10 km would be some lift!!!

Busses are quicker, cheaper and carry more people more frequently.
Plus there are pick-up points along the way ...

Plus there are pick-up points along the way that a cable car could not service.

Don't hold your breath, 'cause you may turn blue.

Hi

Some news on whats going to happen in borovets next year,........its going to snow.

In pamps our ski instructor told us that are plans to build a cable car link to one of the other nearby peaks, inorder to expand ski areas. But he also said that this could be a long way off, as any large money investment would go to borovets first, because its more acessable from Sofia. Maybe true, maybe not, have to wait and see.

Pete,

Are you serious? You actually think they will build a gondola and only have one cable car on it?
