Whats the samokov really like??

I stayed at the lion hotel last year and it was really nice, i hav seen some bad reviews about the samokov and just wanted to know if it was really that bad? How close is it to the center as the only other hotel i remember is the rila. I dont mind but there are a few girls goin with us and hoped it wasnt to bad!! Also does anyone know how the snow is? We go on the 28th of feb.
