Where's best to change currency?

Am I best to change my sterling before going or when I get there. Going to Borovets for Christmas and just wondered where I will get the best deal.

Any info/advise would be greatly appreciated Wink

Dont bring cash bring your atm card. Check with your bank but I think you will get a commercial exchange rate if you use an atm instead of a retail exchange rate if you try to change cash. The reason is that the banks will do all exchanges through the atms in bulk at the end of each day and you should get a more favourable exchange rate. Its not a great idea carrying large quantities of cash at any time

If you want to take Lev's with you Marks and Spencer exchange has had the best rate.

We used them last year prior to travelling and only got the same or lower rate in resort.

Their current exchange rate is 2.755 Levs to the £.

take some leves, you may not get to your resort until late and you usually meet your rep for your lift passes, ski and boot hire tickets about 8am they then take you to the slopes, I usually make sure I have enough money for a couple of days, If you can get a note changed, you get charged to go to the toilet its not a lot but when its cold and you have got to go it can be a pain when they cant change a note.

If you take sterling make sure they are new notes. If you use the ATMs ...

If you take sterling make sure they are new notes. If you use the ATMs make sure you cover your number when typing it in, I do this everywhere but there were a few cases last year of card fraud just be aware.

exchange rates are of a muchness you may get .05 of a leve more from some paces but its not a great deal of money realy just make sure you are getting around 2.70 leves to the pound

hope this helps
